This year, Newport has once again demonstrated its incredible compassion and generosity through the "Wrap Up Newport: Warm a Heart Coat Campaign 2024." With the unwavering support of residents, businesses, and organisations, we are proud to share that a total of 668 coats were collected and redistributed to those in need, spreading warmth and kindness across the city.The campaign, led by Gem Walker, Newport Support Network Service Manager and Volunteer Coordinator at Community Connect Newport, was hosted at the Community Hub located at 92 Commercial Street, NP20 1LS. Starting in early November, the initiative called on locals to donate gently used coats and outerwear for adults and children alike. Newport Support Networks: Illuminating Hope on World Homeless DayOn October 10, 2024, Newport Support Networks painted the town red – literally and figuratively – as they embarked on a heartwarming journey to raise awareness and funds for their dedicated initiative, Hope and Rise.
