Residents looking for food support in Newport can now access help every weekend thanks to new opening hours at Newport Support Network CIC.

Based at 92 Commercial Street, Newport (NP20 1LS), our community hub provides a range of services including a food bank, baby bank, community fridge, community shop and community kitchen.

These services are designed to support local families facing the rising cost of living while creating a welcoming space where people can access help with dignity.

 
New Weekend Opening Times
We now provide community support every weekend with different services available on each day.

Friday – Food Bank & Baby Bank
10:00am – 2:00pm

Our Newport food bank and baby bank provides essential food parcels and baby items to families who need additional support.

Access is referral only, through:

Health visitors
Support workers
Partner organisations
This ensures support reaches those most in need.

 
Saturday – Community Shop & Community Fridge
10:00am – 2:00pm

Our Saturday provision helps local residents access affordable food while reducing waste.

Community Shop
Residents can purchase up to 10 items for £5, helping stretch household budgets.

Community Fridge
Fresh food such as bread, fruit, vegetables, dairy and surplus supermarket items are available first come, first served.

This initiative supports both food sustainability and community wellbeing in Newport.

 
Sunday – Community Kitchen
10:00am – 2:00pm

Our Newport Community Kitchen provides a free hot meal every Sunday.

No referral is required.

The space is open to anyone who may need:
