At Baby Basics Newport, our shelves filled with much-needed items for mums and little ones—thanks to the kindness of St Stephen’s Church and Admiral staff. Every bottle, every nappy, every donation matters. Why We Do What We Do: A Day of Impact at Newport Multibank

The Open Table &amp; The Open Pantry – Official Launch Reflections This week marked a truly special moment at Community Connect Newport as we officially launched The Open Table &amp; The Open Pantry — our newest initiatives under the Newport Multibank.We were honoured to be joined by pupils and staff from St Woolos Primary School and Maindee Primary School, whose presence brought energy, insight, and compassion to the day.&nbsp; Meaningful Conversations, Real Impact From the moment they arrived, it was clear that these young learners had a deep understanding of the world around them. They asked thoughtful questions, shared their observations, and reminded us — with clarity and heart — why this work is so essential.We explored topics including:The root causes of poverty The challenges of food insecurity The importance of listening to children’s voices The need for long-term, sustainable solutions Together, we agreed: tackling poverty means addressing more than just hunger. A Heartfelt Thank You to St Woolos & Maindee Primary Schools

We’re delighted to share some fantastic news from Newport Support Network CIC — our organisation has been successfully awarded both Capital and Revenue grants through the 2025 Direct Food Support Fund, backed by Newport City Council and the Welsh Government.This vital funding totals £8,000 and will help us significantly expand our capacity to support families and individuals across Newport facing food insecurity. As food poverty continues to affect more people, especially in vulnerable and diverse communities, our ability to respond quickly and sensitively is more important than ever.
