Why We Do What We Do: A Day of Impact at Newport Multibank

Today wasn’t just another day. It was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do at Newport Multibank by Newport Support Network CIC.

Thanks to the incredible support from Admiral Life, eight brilliant volunteers joined us across both our sites—proving once again that when purpose meets people, powerful things happen.

🌱 At The Open Table & Pantry (92 Commercial Street):
Our shelves were restocked. Smiles were shared. And in a beautiful moment of creativity and connection, we hosted a flower and coffee workshop, bringing colour and comfort to the heart of our city. The arrangements made? Handed out with love as part of our Kindness Wins outreach, spreading joy and reminding others that generosity is always in season.

🍽️ At Feed Newport Soup Kitchen (192 Commercial Road):
We opened our doors wide and welcomed guests with dignity, warmth, and respect. Volunteers witnessed what real food justice looks like—not just meals, but moments of human connection, of being seen and served without judgement.

🛍️ Across Both Sites:
With support from Newport City Council, we topped up our food bank essentials. At Baby Basics Newport, our shelves filled with much-needed items for mums and little ones—thanks to the kindness of St Stephen’s Church and Admiral staff. Every bottle, every nappy, every donation matters. And today, it all came together.

🎓 Looking Ahead:
The day also marked the launch of our Volunteer & Barista Training Programme—empowering individuals with practical skills and pathways to opportunity. Because we don’t just believe in helping people today—we’re invested in changing futures.

This isn’t charity.

This is community-led action—tackling the root causes of food poverty, not just sticking on another plaster.

Five years in. Still grassroots. Still humble.
Not always seen, but always stepping up.

Because real change starts with why.
